Edwardian Dresser display cabinet cocktail cabinet. Elegant stunning furniture
If you are looking for a dramatic, historic piece with many years of life to come then this is for you.
Made of mahogany, it is solid and heavy. The original hardware is saved. Claw feet, bevelled mirrors, glass fronted cupboards.
This magnificent Edwardian piece was found in an attic in Bath and covered in 115 years of dust and dirt.
It has been loving restored without removing the character of its past. The wonderful carvings have been bought to life with gold gilding, wax and the original velvet inside the cupboards remains. Made of mahogany, it is solid and heavy. The original hardware is saved. Claw feet, bevelled mirrors, glass fronted cupboards.
Think ‘Downton Abbey’ and it’s opulence – I wonder if the house maid was punished for the little dings and surface marks or whether they were the result of a nights of frivolity, fun and dancing. They remain as a testament of its history. The Edwardian Era lasted from 1901 to 1910 when Great Britain was the most powerful nation in the world.
It was a period of decadence and hope.
Samuel Hynes described the Edwardian era as a “leisurely time when women wore picture hats and did not vote, when the rich were not ashamed to live conspicuously, and the sun really never set on the British flag”
The top comes part from the base for transporting.
All my furniture will show small signs of wear which only adds to its character.
The too carving has a small part missing as in photos.
