This is a commission piece. A piano painted in collaboration with the family. They wanted an undersea scene to work with their fish wall paper. from start to finish we talked and discussed what they wanted. i think you’d agree the end result is pretty stunning! if you’d like your own ideas put on to a piano then please message me. the cost depends on what you want but start at £750 plus expenses if traveling and staying. I have a campervan so stay in that if at all possible. generally takes me about 3-4 days to complete an standard upright piano.

Here is the review the customer wrote for this piano. so it shows you how i work!! hope you enjoy the read.

Wow, what an experience! Because that’s what we got, an amazing experience – and not ‘just’ a beautiful heirloom piano.

We found Jenny by accident – we loved her shocking pink ‘fairy’ piano on Etsy, so I got in touch to enquire.

From the start Jenny was super friendly and helpful. She told us that she’d need to come up from South Wales for a few days in her camper van to paint the piano for a set amount plus petrol. The idea of having a resident artist for a few days sounded like great fun, and not something we’d ever thought of before, so we decided to go for it.

We discussed some ideas, and as the piano was going to sit in a room with brightly coloured fish wallpaper, the idea for an undersea theme (with the fairy morphing into the aquatic equivalent of mermaid) was developed between us.

We shared some online images of the sort of thing we had in mind, and the colours, Jenny did the same, and she developed an idea in her head based on our WhatsApp conversations, and we left it at that until she arrived. Behind the scenes she’d found a sample of our unusual wallpaper, and then mixed a huge number of colours from the sample so that she could pull in highlights and themes from the background.

So we bought an old piano (yeah, we bought one especially – the same model as the fairy, by chance), had it tuned, and couldn’t wait for the date we’d agreed for Jenny to arrive.

After setting up at a nearby campsite Jenny arrived in her bright orange van with over 100 colours of paint, plus boxes of sweets for the kids, and undersea colouring packs to keep them entertained – what a lovely touch! We immediately hit it off – Jenny is so friendly and easy to talk to, and her energy and enthusiasm is infectious, and we (us, the kids and our huge Great Dane) knew it was going to be a fun few days. She’d even produced a canvas painting of her vision of the final design as a gift so that we could see what was in her head. So we actually have two pieces of art for the price of one, plus the experience.

We discussed her ideas once again, and ours, she was patient with my questions and the excited kids, and she got straight to work.

It’s worth pointing out that it’s hugely important to trust Jenny as an artist – and to let her work through the ‘ugly stage’ (though it really wasn’t that ugly). She was receptive to our ideas, input and suggestions, but she was (rightly) careful to preserve her independence to progress the work through to meet her end ‘vision’, and at no point did she make us feel that we had no say in the final product.

She invited the kids to get involved (their hand-prints became coral at the base of the piano, and there’s probably an accidental dog’s tail-print in there somewhere) and made tweaks and changes here and there as it progressed – it was fascinating to watch her work.

That’s really one of Jenny’s unique skills – she is able to carefully balance her creative vision as an artist with the needs (and potentially changing requirements) of the customer to bring you a bespoke commission-piece that has grown organically but is still very close to her original concept, as evidenced by the canvas painting.

So what we have is a stunning piece of artwork (which the kids will probably fight over when we’re gone) that is indelibly linked with great memories of the time that we had an artist come to our home to create something magical.
