Desk By Stag, 1970s Black With Gold Stripe Retro Design.
A vintage desk from British furniture makers Stag, mid century 1970s made from African cherry wood. Having a large working area with five good sized drawers with dovetailed joints and antique brass coloured cup shaped handles.
The whole piece has been professionally painted in a black durable VOC and toxin free mineral paint which gives a smooth and professional finish, with a retro stripe in gold for added interest, then finished in a clear wax for added durability and effect. The insides of the drawers have been nourished with a natural hemp oil, are all in excellent condition and work smoothly.Measuring…

Fresh as a daisy – this once dark and dreary small bureau now exudes new and fresh and stands tall on new legs. It has been painted in a deep muted olive green with a contrasting neutral pale green. She has been lovingly sanded back and coated in Fusion stain and mineral oil to enhance the beautiful walnut grain on the drawer fronts and the main bureau leaf.
Gisselle’s main body is presented in striking ‘Emerald City’ by Annabell Duke.
Her beautiful, shapely Queen Anne legs and further smaller details are painted in Metallic Gold by Fusion and enhanced using ‘Firebird’ Wax Cire Cera.The front of the lockable lid (original key is included) and the side of 2 drawers are dressed in ‘Cosmic Roses’ decor transfer by Re-design with Prima.
Gisselle’s drop-down top can be used as a writing desk, whilst a section of 3 drawers below provides ample storage.
In addition, there are 2 cubby drawers and letter racks inside the lockable leaf lid.The original handles have been lovingly restored and now shine against the exposed woodwork.
