A mid century desk long and low with a floating top from the 1960’s having four good sized dovetailed drawers. A large working area with typical retro tapered legs providing a strong and sturdy on trend desk. All drawers run smoothly.
The whole piece has been professionally painted in a retro blue durable VOC and toxin free mineral paint with a geometric design over the drawers in bronze and pale grey, then sealed with a flat clear wax for extra durability and effect. Mid Century Desk By William Lawrence, Blue Retro Style 1960s
A desk from the 1960s mid century made by iconic British furniture makers William Lawrence of Nottingham. Being low, sleek and wide this very cool retro desk has sleigh legs that’s wrap around from the front to the back of the piece. Each side has two drawers, the top one being smaller with hidden opener, then a deeper drawer with a front wooden cup handle.
Please be aware that because of the design of the sleigh legs wrapping around the piece, the desk will not sit entirely flush to a back wall, as can be seen on the photos.

Vintage Writing Desk in Black with Gold Detail and Inlay Top
A stunning vintage writing desk painted in black with gold detail.
This lovely desk has been painted in a black chalk mineral paint and treated with several coats of matt wax finish varnish for durability. The top has some beautiful original inlay which has been highlighted by adding a faux leather desk pad in black with some gold edging and more black and gold detail to add interest. There are two drawers with gorgeous brass swan neck drop handles which have been cleaned and polished and some more gold detailing has been added to the drawers and feet.
This would make a perfect desk for a smaller space or would also work as a console table in a hallway or living room.

Meet Gisselle,– the elegant vintage bureau who is looking for a new home.
She has been lovingly sanded back and coated in Fusion stain and mineral oil to enhance the beautiful walnut grain on the drawer fronts and the main bureau leaf.
Gisselle’s main body is presented in striking ‘Emerald City’ by Annabell Duke.
Her beautiful, shapely Queen Anne legs and further smaller details are painted in Metallic Gold by Fusion and enhanced using ‘Firebird’ Wax Cire Cera.The front of the lockable lid (original key is included) and the side of 2 drawers are dressed in ‘Cosmic Roses’ decor transfer by Re-design with Prima.
Gisselle’s drop-down top can be used as a writing desk, whilst a section of 3 drawers below provides ample storage.
In addition, there are 2 cubby drawers and letter racks inside the lockable leaf lid.The original handles have been lovingly restored and now shine against the exposed woodwork.
